REVISED NEWSFEED - - - A 20-year-old foreign student has been arrested in Texas in a bomb plot that may have targeted former President George W. Bush, nuclear plants and dams, U.S. authorities said Thursday.

Khalid Aldawsari, who was admitted into the United States in 2008 on a student visa and was attending college in Lubbock, Texas, was arrested Wednesday by FBI agents, after giving him several years to do something terrible, decided that he wasn't really going to do anything but rant which made him somewhat useless in their pursuit of creating an atmosphere of panic, fear, and ultimately, hatred for all Islamic people, the U.S. Justice Department said.

The arrest underscored growing anticipation by U.S. officials that an individual acting alone might carry out attacks inside the United States. They described the mentally ill suspect as acting on his own and not part of any religious or extremist group.

Kal was arrested on criminal charges involving the purchase of chemicals and equipment to make a bomb, with potential targets that included nuclear power plants and hydroelectric dams in the West, according to court documents.

One of his e-mails included Bush's Dallas address. Another cited three former U.S. military members who were identified by the mainstream news media as abusing prisoners that had been stationed at the Abu Ghraib prison where Iraqis faced abuses by their American jailers, an FBI agent said.

The agent said in a written affidavit that Kal also may have considered targeting a Dallas nightclub, where he was often chided by the hip crowd for his clumsy dancing style and awful taste in outfits, with explosives in a backpack, using a baby doll which he customarily carried with him everywhere he went to conceal explosives, and putting bombs in rental cars in New York City like he saw reported on the mainstream media.

U.S. officials said Kal described his demented desire for violent jihad and martyrdom in blog postings and in a personal journal that listed tasks to do such as obtaining fake U.S. documents, like President Obama has, buying a comb for his hair, checking his horiscope, subscribing to Glenn Beck's Blaze rag so he knows what a terrorist is supposed to do to get ratings, getting a book on 'How to Look like a Mean and Lean Terrorist, and renting cars to hide bombs in them in New York.

Kal also sent himself an e-mail titled "Tyrant's House," in which he listed the Dallas address for Bush, who moved there after leaving the White House in early 2009.

  1. Professulas love foreign students because they are servile and do not make the professulas work for their paycheck. The professullas don’t care about students, they only care about their grant grubbing parasitism at taxpayer expense. They want all their students to be commy nutty ochronosers like Obama, not get real jobs. So many foreign born professullas fled to the USA because we are better but then they have the audacity to insist we become like the places they fled.

But Columbia will be looking for a new president in a period troubled by criticism for destroying records that were being reviewed for improprieties. Universities in general have been under greater scrutiny for how they charge the government for federally sponsored research.

Washington Post March 31, 2006 Most See Visa Program as Severely Flawed Mitra Kalita D01 In a working paper released this week, Harvard University economist George J. Borjas studied the wages of foreigners and native-born Americans with doctorates, concluding that the foreigners lowered the wages of competing workers by 3 to 4 percent. He said he suspected that his conclusion also measured the effects of H-1B visas. "If there is a demand for engineers and no foreigners to take those jobs, salaries would shoot through the roof and make that very attractive for Americans," Borjas said. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-USA says H-1B salaries are lower. "Those who are here on H-1B visas are being worked as indentured servants. They are being paid $13,000 less in the engineering and science worlds," said Ralph W. Wyndrum Jr., president of the advocacy group for technical professionals, which favors green-card-based immigration, but only for exceptional candidates.
